BREAKING NEWS: Aziz Khan Found Safe After 7 Years
BREAKING NEWS – NCMEC is excited to share that Abdul “Aziz” Khan, missing for seven years from Atlanta, Georgia, has been found safe just outside Denver, Colorado. Aziz’s non-custodial mother, Rabia Khalid, along with her husband, Elliot Blake Bourgeois, were arrested on felony charges including kidnapping. Police say Khalid abducted Aziz from Atlanta in 2017 when he was 7 years old. Today he is 14.
Aziz’s family asked NCMEC to release this statement on their behalf: “We're overwhelmed with joy that Aziz has finally been found. We want to thank everyone for their support over the last seven years. Now, as we navigate the next steps, we ask for privacy so that we can move forward as a family and heal together.”
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched on Feb. 23, 2025, to a vacant home listed for sale in Highlands Ranch, Colorado to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported seeing two people enter the house illegally through security cameras on the property. When deputies arrived on scene, two children were in a vehicle in the driveway and two adults came out of the house.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the adults initially claimed to be associated with a realtor, but deputies were able to uncover their identities as Rabia Khalid and Elliot Blake Bourgeois. Khalid had an active warrant for kidnapping her son, Aziz Khan. Aziz, along with another child whose identity is not being released at this time, was taken into protective custody.
Khalid and Bourgeois were arrested on charges including Second Degree Kidnapping, Forgery, Identity Theft, Providing False Information to Authorities and Trespassing.

NCMEC commends the U.S. Marshals Service, Kenner Police Department in Louisiana and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for never giving up the search to bring Aziz home safe.
“The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has worked closely with law enforcement and Aziz’s family since his disappearance, always believing he could be found,” said John Bischoff, vice president of NCMEC’s Missing Children Division. “In family abduction cases, it can be difficult to garner public attention, but we knew that national media coverage was crucial—Aziz could have been anywhere. Thanks to the deputies’ keen instincts and the attention of both law enforcement and the public, Aziz is now safe. Family reunifications can be challenging. As Aziz and his family reconnect and heal, NCMEC will continue to support them.”
