Happy New Year: A Message from Our CEO
As we welcome 2025, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who stand alongside the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Thank you for believing in our mission and being part of our journey.
The past year brought both challenges and opportunities. One of the most significant developments in our fight against child sexual exploitation was the widespread adoption of generative artificial intelligence. While this transformative technology holds immense potential, it also creates unique challenges to child protection in an ever-evolving digital landscape. At NCMEC, we are dedicated to staying ahead of the curve by embracing innovation to advance our mission while mitigating new risks that threaten child safety.
Looking ahead, 2025 will be a year of action and impact. We remain steadfast in our fight against financial sextortion, a shocking crime that has devastated children and families across the nation. We will continue to seek out the newest technology to help us in our search for missing children. We will keep engaging with schools across the country to deliver educational resources so young people can better protect themselves. As importantly, we will continue to work with survivors, letting their experiences guide our roadmap as we develop solutions that truly reflect their needs and insights.
In the new year, I encourage you to stay engaged. With your help, we will face challenges head-on, deliver meaningful solutions, and make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families everywhere.
On behalf of everyone at NCMEC, I wish you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and hopeful New Year.
Warm regards,
Michelle DeLaune
